I think this Lilium lancifolium (a true Tiger Lily) is my favourite Lily – it’s growing in the shade of a large Basswood (Tilia americana) multiplying quite happily and is a welcome splash of colour mid August in an otherwise drab corner. The rounded petals are a perfect match for this week’s photo challenge!

Tiger Lilies! I’ll try again. Oddly I haven’t had luck with them but areas of my yard are harsh.

I totally neglect them, mainly because they blend in so well with surrounding vegetation, until suddenly they’re there… then I visit every day! Next year I’m going to harvest some of the bulbils to start them in a different area. Or two.
