Every Monday Cathy at Rambling In The Garden invites us to share a vase highlighting what is growing in our gardens. Or, as is the case in many parts of the northern hemisphere the first week of the new year, what we’ve brought home from the florist’s. Happily for me, I have a friend who works at a florist shop and she brought, when joining us for dinner last Friday, a jar of cast-offs: broken ends of flowers that just wouldn’t cut it on the sales floor but which I quite appreciate.
The jar was loaded with fragrant lilies and carnations, plus a few mums, Gypsophila and a perky blue flower I didn’t ask the name of. It’s been a real cheery centrepiece on the dining room table for the past few grey, rainy days. The photo above was taken with no flash – the one below, with a flash.
Happy New Year, everyone, and hope you have a glorious week!
What the heck? I can not identify that blue flower. It looks like pieces of delphinium.
